It depends on the nature of your truck insurance enquiry, and what you need to insure. We can usually provide quotations within 24-48 hours as long as we have all the required information from you. Quotations for fleets take a little longer.
If you’re happy to proceed with our quote, we will require payment upfront or monthly finance contact signed. We will then issue cover and provide relevant insurance documentation.
Truck Insurance Brokers do not provide cover-notes unless you're an existing client.
If you're an existing transport business with continuous truck insurance , you need to provide us with a claims history to prove your No Claim Bonus rating. If your business has been operating with continuous truck insurance for over 5 years , then a 5 year claims history will need to be provided. If operating for 3 years, then a 3 year claims history will need to be provided.
Insurers will require proof of this within 30 days. If a claims history cannot be provided then the insurer has the right to cancel from inception or charge you an additional premium.
For truck fleets with 10 or more trucks , a claims history will need to be provided to our Brokers in order to gain quotes from our truck insurers.
New ventures don't need to supply a claims history.
Yes.
If the policy is cancelled by you mid-term before expiry of the insurance, Truck Insurance Brokers reserves the right to refund to you the net return premium we receive from the insurer. Importantly, we will not refund any part of the brokerage or fees we receive from the insurer for arranging the cover for you. A broker service fee may also be
charged to process the cancellation.
If you have used a Premium Funding Company to pay the premium by monthly instalments, then they may charge you the full interest applicable to the contract, (detailed in the Loan Application Agreement), if you cancel the policy mid-term or by the Premium Funder cancels due to payment defaults. Before you cancel a policy you should phone our office to discuss fees & charges applicable.
